It was a tough last four games of the 2011 season for Chicago and their fans. They lost Jay Cutler and Matt Forte in a matter of just a few days, and they lost their remaining games on the schedule to miss the playoffs. Their playoff spot went to the Lions, who did absolutely nothing with it, and after rebuilding and revamping, the Bears look poised to make another run at the NFC North crown.
The Bears cleaned house this offseason, as Mike Martz (OC) and Jerry Angelo (GM) were either fired or not brought back. Former offensive line coach Mike Tice is now in charge of the offense, and long time Bears scout Phil Emery is now running the player personnel department.
Chicago wasted no time this offseason. They pulled off a blockbuster trade with Miami, as it only took two third round picks to land Brandon Marshall. Cutler and Marshall are now reunited, and the Bears hope they can revisit some of their Denver days.
The Bears have signed a wealth of new players, including running back Michael Bush. With the contract dispute going on between the Bears and Matt Forte, it was a necessary move. If Forte does not hold out, these two will be a dangerous duo in the backfield.

Great news for the Bears came out when the schedule was released as well. Chicago only has to play six games against playoff teams from last season, and only three of them are on the road. Four of those games are against their divisional foes the Packers and the Lions.
Things are looking up for Chicago’s NFL odds this year, and I expect nothing less than an 11-win season for the Bears. If health can be there for the Bears, a deep playoff run like two years ago might be in order.
