The Evil Empire Strikes Back

Get used to seeing Johnny Damon with short hair and no facial hair for four years because he is going to sign with the Yankees. Damon has signed with the Yankees for $52 million over 4 years. That'll make you want to cut your hair real fast. A player so synonomous with the Boston Red Sox is playing with the team they hate the most. If this rivalry wasn't intense enough now it got even more interesting. I love it.

The Yankees fault? Don't think so. The Red Sox blew it because the didn't want to give Damon a five year contract. Damon and his agent, the lovable Scott Boras, were looking for seven but even the Yankees didn't want to give that much. They basically said take a four year contract or leave it. Did they overpay him? I think so. Damon and his long flowing hair are not worth $13 million.

Now like every off season it seems we're saying look at this stud Yankees lineup. Damon, Jeter, Giambi, Matsui, Rodriguez. It's ridiculous to see the yearly salary for each of those players. Still they need pitching help. Until then this Yankee team will fall short once again.

P.s. Take some of their salary and give it to the public transportation union so they can get back to work! (What a mess in NYC)
