NBA Team Profiles: Memphis Grizzlies

It doesn’t matter if you are a true Memphis Grizzlies fan, an NBA gambler, or a DFS NBA player, knowing how the Grizzlies are stacking up can help you predict their playing ability this season. Their odds are low at the moment, but all that can change in the bounce of a ball.

Steven Adams - Center

Adams did suffer from a calf injury at the beginning of April, but that issue has been healed. His last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves only lasted for 3 minutes, but this slow return to the game is what the player needs.

Santi Aldama - Forward Center

Aldama suffered from a knee injury earlier in the month and is still out of the games on recovery. His last game against Boston allowed him to score 20 points in 31 minutes, creating 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Still, this wasn’t enough to win the game.

Kyle Anderson - Forward Guard

Anderson’s stats so far this season have been rather steady. He is averaging 7.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 2.7 assists per game. However, in his last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he only scored 2 points in 18 minutes of play.

Desmond Bane - Guard

Bane has also gone through this season with an injury - this time to his foot. However, he played in the Minnesota Timberwolves game and scored 16 points in 31 minutes of play. He also achieved 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Dillon Brooks - Guard Forward

Brooks has been showing strong form this season. Against Phoenix, he scored 30 points, 12 against Denver, 23 against New Orleans, and 24 against the 16th of April Minnesota Timberwolves game.

Brandon Clarke - Forward

At the beginning of the month, Clarke had a thigh injury that benched him for two games. However, he was back in action and against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he scored 13 points in 21 minutes.

Jarrett Culver - Guard Forward

On the 10th of April Culver scored his season-high of 14 points in 32 minutes. With just 2 years of experience and a current average of 3.5 points per average, you can imagine how ecstatic Culver felt despite the overall loss.

Jaren Jackson Jr - Forward Center

Jackson Jr has a relatively high point per average score of 16.3 for the season. In the last 5 games, he has scored 78 points total in 136 minutes. Jackson Jr is standing out as the stable player the Grizzlies need.

Tyus Jones - Guard

Jones had a hand injury early in the season, but has recovered and played a stable game in the season. Against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he scored 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Overall for the season, Jones has 8.7 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, and 4.4 assists per game too.

John Konchar - Guard

On the 10th of April, Konchar scored his first-ever triple-double as a professional athlete. He did so against the Celtic Bostons scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 block, and 2 steals. Although they lost the game Konchar should have been a proud player.

De’Anthony Melton - Guard

Melton was another team member who played in the Minnesota Timberwolves game and he helped the team win by scoring 7 points in just 18 minutes of court time. He also achieved 2 rebounds and 3 assists in the time given.

Ja Morant - Guard

Morant is the current team hero. His points per game average is 27.4 for the season, the rebounds per game is 5.7 and the assists per game is 6.7. In his last 5 games, Morant hasn’t scored less than 15 points and in his last 4 games, he hasn’t scored less than 20.

Yves Pons - Forward

Pons is a Grizzlies rookie player, but that didn’t stop the team from allowing him to play for 26 minutes! That is a career-high for Pons, and during that time he scored 6 points, achieved 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. It was a game against Boston which they eventually lost, but the experience for Pons would have been worth it.

Tyrell Terry - Guard

Terry hasn’t played a single game this year due to a foot injury. His last game was in December 2021 where he scored nothing, rebounded nothing, and assisted nothing against the San Antonio Spurs. In his defense, he was taken off the court as soon as he was added to it.

Killian Tillie - Forward Center

Tillie has a point per game average of 3.3, rebound per game average of 1.7, and assist per game average of 0.6. Due to his knee injury, Tillie is out of the season indefinitely.

Xavier Tillman - Forward

Tillman has a point per game average of 4.8, rebound per game average of 3, and assist per game average of 1.2.

Ziaire Williams - Forward

Williams is another Rookie for the Grizzlies. He has a point per game average of 8.1, rebound per game average of 2.1, and assist per game average of 1.

Summary

The Grizzlies have a mixed bag of players this season, and a lot of injuries to juggle. Only time will tell how the team fairs.
