I can't wait to hear "Jeff George Throws his 3rd Interception of the day"

I have to equate this to participating in a fantasy football draft and a guy select a quarterback in the first round (Manning) and another quarterback with his next pick (Palmer). Then declares that this was his strategy because now he'll have trade bait and someone will need another quarterback. Who would ever think of this? (By the way he selected Greg Jones as his "sleeper" running back. This guy gave everyone too much material to make jokes with.)

This is how I see the Jeff George signing. When has Jeff George been on the radar with any football team? If I would have had to bet when training camp started that Jeff George would be signed by anyone team in the NFL I would have said here's the title to my car. Good thing I didn't bet cause I he would have lost me a damn car. I forgot the Raiders were the strange little NFL team that would do something this bizarre.

George hasn't played since 2001, when he was cut by Washington after two games. In those games, George completed 23 of 42 passes with three interceptions as the Redskins were outscored 67-3. Maybe after five years away from the game actually made him smarter and a better quarterback. Wine gets better with age but once it spoils there's no way to make it better. Unless he followed the yellow brick road and begged for a new brain, I don't think his abilities have improved.

For crying out loud he was coaching the run and shoot for his son's fourth grade football team. If I was a parent of a child on that team I'd think that's pretty cool. If I was a Raider fan, I'd thinking signing George to my team is not.

But I'll have to say I'm rooting for Jeff George to get some meaningful playing time. Why? Because I'm just like those drivers who slow down as they pass an accident. It's hard to not watch and try to get a closer look at such an ugly mess.

Anyone know who's interested in Ryan Leaf?
