Confused fan

I am watching the 49ers vs chargers game. After 49ers scored they kicked a PAT that seemed to have been kicked from the 2-3 hard line not the 15 as in the other preseason games.


Am I missing something or misunderstanding the new kicking PAT rule?

Hi, the longer extra point try was an experiment for only the first 2 games of preseason. The NFL will evaluate whether it worked or not and decide in the future whether to implement. Now, we are back to the same extra point distance as always. Good catch though!
