Colleges have become a major source of talent for major league baseball (MLB)

One small criticism to the article. Most professional baseball players no longer are signed directly out of high school. There are are a growing number of players drafted out of college. College players such as Ryan Zimmerman (UVA), David Price (Vandy) and Stephen Strasburg (San Diego State) have become MLB stars. The first three picks in the 2011 MLB draft were college players.
