Cinderalla Showed Up in Purple on Day 2

Yes now we know who Northwestern State is. Now do you know where they're located? Not up north, as I thought, but in the state of Louisiana.

Another exciting day of March Madness. None more exciting than the 3 point shot by Northwestern State (who ever heard of them?) to beat Big Ten champion Iowa. We'll see that shot over and over the next 25 years. In a sense of irony, the tournament champions of the Big East, Big Ten, and Big XII all lost in the first round. I think the champion of the Big Fat Yeast Roll would have done better.

We almost saw it in our lifetime. We almost say a #16 seed beat a #1 seed. Even though it would have destroyed my bracket and millions of others, I wanted to see Albany beat Connecticut. It would have been historic. Albany could have gone 0-52 the next two seasons but they did the unthinkable! Disney probably would have been the first phone call made to Albany for rights to the movie.

It will happen one day though. We'll see a #16 seed beat a #1 seed. I just hope to see it in this lifetime.

The Big East did have a much better day today. After going 0-3 yesterday they were a smoking 5-0 today. All SEC teams moved on (5) to the second round except the folks in Arkansas.

Besides UConn playing it close with Albany, UNC and Texas almost exited the tournament early in the evening session. Both Murray State and Pennsylvania kept it really close. That's the magic of March Madness.

Upset watch for Saturday. Wichita State over Tennessee. A&M over LSU. Indiana over Gonzaga.
